They're incredibly easy to make, allowing you to customize aromas and create personalized gifts for friends and family. Ready to dive into the world of wax melt making? Let's get started!

Gather Your Supplies:

• Tart Melt Soy Wax: Specifically designed for wax melts, such as soy wax, paraffin wax, or a blend. Each wax has unique properties, so choose one that suits your preference.
• Clamshell moulds: These convenient containers come in various shapes and sizes, with separate compartments for individual melts.
• Fragrance oils: The heart of your wax melts! Select your favourite scents or experiment with unique blends.
• Double boiler or melting pot: For safely melting the wax.
• Thermometer: Essential for monitoring wax temperature.
• Pouring pitcher or jug: For easy and controlled pouring.
• Stirring utensils: Spoons or spatulas for mixing.
• Scale: For accurate measurement of wax and fragrance.
• Optional extras: Glitter, dried botanicals, or other embellishments.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear a clean and heat-resistant surface. Protect your work area from spills with a silicone mat or parchment paper.

2. Measure and Melt: Using your scale, measure the required amount of wax according to your clamshell mould's capacity. Melt the wax in a double boiler or melting pot over low heat. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting.

3. Monitor Temperature: Use your thermometer to keep a close eye on the wax temperature. Different waxes have different melting points, so refer to the manufacturer's instructions. In this example, we are using Golden Wax Tart Melt, heat to 85°C Allow to cool to 75-80°C

4. Infuse with Fragrance: Once the wax has cooled slightly (typically around 75-80°C for soy wax), add your fragrance oil. Refer to the fragrance oil's instructions for the recommended usage rate. Stir gently and thoroughly for about 2 minutes to ensure the fragrance is evenly distributed. In this example, we are using Grape Bubble Gum, as it has a 10% max load.

5. Pour and Set: Carefully pour the fragrant wax into the clamshell mould cavities, leaving a little space at the top. Tap the mould gently on the counter to release any air bubbles. Or clam shells can be filled to 80ml.

6. Cool and Cure: Allow the wax melts to cool and harden completely. This may take several hours or overnight. Avoid moving or disturbing the moulds during the cooling process.

7. Unmold and Enjoy: Once the melts are fully solidified, gently pop them out of the clamshell mould. They're now ready to use in your wax warmer!

• Fragrance Load: The amount of fragrance oil you add will affect the scent throw. Start with the recommended usage rate and adjust based on your preference.
• Curing Time: Allowing your wax melts to cure for a few days before use can enhance the scent throw.
